It makes sense that one of the architects of the Oslo Peace Accords passed away at the point when even the idea of lasting peace is crumbling to bits in front of our very eyes. In one of my weird 'claims to fame', I had the privilege to be trained in conflict negotiation/resolution by Galtung. RIP.

Johan Galtung passed away this morning. He was born in 1930 on 24 October, the same day that 15 years later would see the founding of the United Nations.
