Zaltazar's Garden Syndrome is a wasting disease caused by "overgrowth" of the coral that makes up her antlers. She was convinced by her previous lover to undergo a procedure for the coral overgrowth for cosmetic reasons, but eventually complications means that her life expectancy is much shorter.

Her coming up on land has a bit of a gender allegory, she's always felt trapped in her body. Her first appearance when coming up on shore was slightly more masculine. Eventually she is diagnosed with a terminal disease by the name of Zaltazar's Garden Syndrome, which will spell her eventual death.

This is my Dreadnaut OC named Margaret! Dreadnauts are creatures that leave the sea to live on land. They will "mimic" the dominant creatures on land which in this world are kemonomimi. She is mimicking a rabbit/jackalope #OC#ClosedSpecies#Dreadnaut
