ā€œCall Me Yo-ker!ā€ doesnā€™t really have the same ring to itā€¦ Sounds like some sort of 90s totally radical interpretation of Humpty Dumpty

And yes, this is a series.

Pioneer Green Letend Ran VHS Box Set. Itā€™s suspiciously LaserDisc sized
Inside of the box. Itā€™s half empty with a T-Shirt to fill the void
Pioneer LaserDisc set. Itā€™s looks identical, except for a tiny LassrDisc logo in the corner instead of VHS
Inside of the LaserDisc box. The contents actually fit, no T-Shirt required.

You know, I knew scholastic has been around for a while, but I donā€™t think it really hit me until seeing that logo (maybe Iā€™m just too young). Seems it was gone by 1969 at the latest

Compare that with Funiā€™s release of Empire of Corpses, which used UltraViolet (another dead service) instead. In incredibly tiny print on the back, it says the magic words of ā€œRedemption code subject to expirationā€. And guess what? If you redeemed it before then, *you can still watch it!*

Iā€™m not saying CR needs to immediately pull these products, I want them to stay in print! It just feels like there should be a sticker on the front at the very least that says itā€™s no longer valid. Heck, even a note on the product page would be better than this.

They mentioned that they don't often get home video releases, but I wouldn't be surprised if either of these end up at AnimEigo. Minky Momo does fit "Ruined Childhood" quite well...

If someone does pick them up, I really, really hope they get Tim Eldred involved again. His liner notes/essays were the highlights of the Voyager releases, and they were missed on the 2199 releases (both Voyager and Funi)

I get that UPC codes are expensive (not really though), but they could at the very least they could have used a UPC-5 code like a periodical. Those are free! And would allow 10,000 DVDs that could still be uniquely identified.

A UPC-12+5 code 1-23456-78901-2-54545

I'm trying to find info on Viva Picture's DVD of the 2021 Dogtanian film (which they renamed "The Dog Knight"), and surprise surprise, it's hard to find info when the thing that's supposed to uniquely identify it is shared with dozens of others. They've abused the very concept of UPC codes!
