"Worldbuilding" is not synonymous nor coterminous with setting, description, background, or level of detail, all of which are ordinary aspects to pay attention to in any work of fiction.

I could try to claim that exploding the sci-fi subreddits' posters with this would be good for their character, but really I'm just evil like that sometimes.

TIL co·ter·mi·nous /kōˈtərmənəs/ adjective having the same boundaries or extent in space, time, or meaning. "the southern frontier was coterminous with the French Congo colony"

After having seen a lot of worldbuilding "questions" (usually twenty paragraphs of detail followed by a simple question), I'm pretty much of the population that most often worldbuilding is what one does instead of writing a story.

Was once at a mystery writing panel where someone asked a question about keeping track of the very detailed imaginary town where her mysteries were set. From the panel, “At a certain point you have to decide if you are a writer or a scrapbooker.” The gasps! 😱🙊😳

I have listened to THE WITNESS FOR THE DEAD by Katherine Addison many times and I love the bit where a very old woman says what quilting patterns she’s using, because it implies a whole world of quilting tradition within this world but we only get a glimpse of it
