I think as artists we should be able to take sick days from work when we're suffering from Wanting To Draw Our Blorbos syndrome but that's just me

Genshin is a bridge too far for me. Star Rail is doable bc of how much can be automated. I'm also playing Impact 3rd bc I wanted to see both the (small) lore connections to Star Rail and the thematic roots and ideas they were exploring, and it's a lot easier to pop in than ZZZ or Genshin, imo

fell asleep for one (1) hour earlier and have been wide awake since. I just wanted to take a nap because of my tummy ache...

In other musings tonight I think I might uninstall ZZZ tomorrow. I am playing two other Hoyoverse games right now and it's all more of a chore than it is fun at this point! I can't let my "saving money" brain keep getting sucked into grinding.

Blend of interesting themes and mechanical decisions. I'm worried about my ability to play a game without maps and quest markers because I have a hard time keeping directions in my head, but I'm curious to see if they really can "ease [me] into" it.

To its benefit, Hell is Us doesn't overwhelm you with either the lack of map or minimal recorded information. The opening forest area I explored has clearly been designed to ease you into this form of navigation. The forest itself is small, with the wind chimes and later paint marks you follow being close together, but still containing a reward if you decide to go exploring. It gives you a good idea of how traversing larger scale areas might work, especially if the game offers you two sets of directions to follow. Though, in these woods, there is only one destination.

This is genuinely good advice for other fields as well. As I've been recovering from burnout, just putting the worst, wonkiest version of a drawing onto the page, fast, and then sleeping on it, has allowed me to make a lot of progress recently
