The way I see it is the only reason this is a question at all is just because of established norms. If someone introduced a new proposition that janitors are allowed to earn below minimum wage, it would seem audacious. “Below minimum wage” shouldn’t be a thing.

I see a lot of business owners coming out against it, but personally I haven’t seen a lot of actual workers support it. The argument I see is that the current system is more profitable than higher minimum wage and no tips, but it’s not like this outlaws tipping or anything.
