I'm a Gen Xer and I've loved anime since the 90s. That love eventually grew into a love of otome games, which always give me a huge mental schism. You're always a teenager in otome games. So here I am, a grown woman, pretending to be a kid again, trying to romance boys more than half my age.

I'm younger than you, but I'm running into this problem too! There are some with 20s protags at least now, so you can somewhat avoid the teen protags if you're careful, but yeah. It's tough finding anything beyond that! (And otomes about people with *jobs* that aren't just vampire hunter/cryptid 😅)

Anime boys are not real boys, so I'm not too worried about it, but Japan's always trying to fuck with me. Like this shit: Jack is 16 years old. Really? Lilia is over 700 years old. Really?
