The difference is Republicans WANT to move right. The democrats donât want to move left. They want to fill the void left by the fabled ânever Trump republicansâ who will likely hold their nose and vote for the anti-abortion candidate anyways.
Libertarians generally take votes away from republicans. They did nothing when Ron Paul was gaining support. He became a leading voice for Republicans, as libertarians vote for Republicans down ballot for the most part. Same as greens for Dems, but the Rs recognize it.
Itâs a cool hypothetical, but it wonât happen if we unconditionally supporting a party preventing that from happening.
