The unsigned mailers either thank or criticize city officials for their stance on a proposal to ban natural gas in new construction. A union is at least partly behind the campaign.
We can (and should) be both pro-labor and hold unions to high standards of integrity. The idea that a top-down organization whose leaders can benefit from certain kinds of misinformation could never do wrong is dangerous

Even before the pandemic there was a spate of white supremacist mass murders that happened in random places — malls, places of worship, garlic festivals — that has never happened before or since. This was, in hindsight, one guy’s fault. Uncovered as he’s a coin flip away from power in a month.
David Frum said "Conservatism is what the people who call themselves conservatives say it is." I think we've discovered that this has largely been proven true in a political sense...which would suggest that US conservatism is a pretty formless, infinitely adaptive thing that pretends to be an ethos.
