Did I expect to have a minor emotional breakdown returning some furnace filters to Amazon at Kohl’s? No, but “3:00 AM” by Matchbox20 is playing while I’m waiting in line, and I’m remembering what it’s actually about.
Is it me, or does it feel like all these people are secretly plotting to murder the others? The smiles are just too over the top.
The more I think about it, the more I wish Sec. Pete would have run for President again this year. Given how folks feel about the two nominees and their complaints about each, Pete kinda checks all the boxes that address those complaints: young, competent, smart, center-left-ish political views.
I have no reached the point of life where albums I bought as an adult are getting there 20th anniversary re-releases. So, that’s a fun new way to feel old.
I feel like I’ve seen so many hyperbolic “[Store name] is Closing Stores Nation Wide for One Day” stories lately. They’re just closing for Easter Sunday. Like, chill out. Stores close on holidays. It’s not a big deal.
THIS. "Boycotting" an election doesn't send the message that you're unhappy, because it doesn't lose them money like it would for a business. You're not the nation's customer. Refusing to vote sends the message that you're fine with whatever result you get, that other people can decide for you.
Finally watched “Wonka.” While it does heavily break from the source, it’s totally delightful. My only quibble is with the unnecessary fat-phobic running bit. Also, why didn’t they market this as a musical? Props on the deep meta humor as well. I can see its becoming a classic.
Of the Oscar nominated movies I've watched this year, it was my favorite. That said... my god what was the casting budget?!
I watched “All of Us Strangers” the other night. It’s great, but it may also be the bleakest movie I’ve seen since “Dancer in The Dark.” Like, Is Andrew Haigh alright? Do we need to send somebody to do a wellness check on him?
