It's unfortunate that a lot of people's understanding of the world is frozen at what they believed to be true when they were teenagers.

if you take the amphetamines but still don't see the face of god, that's how you know you have ADHD

one day I would like to imagine being maybe half as pithy

and when our ancestors slept in trees I bet having a few ppl who stayed up late and were easily distractible by noises made a huge difference with leopards

People used to think that women couldn't have ADHD. That's why some older women like me are very angry that the best years of our lives were marred by something that would have been treatable

I know now that everyone in my family is adhd. Both parents. Didn’t realize until my sons were diagnosed. We generally don’t have the hyperactivity component. But it took me 5 years to complete a 2-year MA. I have unfinished projects all over my house. I’m a night owl. Etc. I’ve learned to cope.

I took so much dexatrim and black beauties in high school and felt chill and awesome as opposed to my normal anxious and disorganized self. It all made sense when I was diagnosed at 36.

And folks smoked cigarettes all day long and you didn't have to do a months long project to get a job.

I was diagnosed at 39; my second-grade (and fourth-grade reading and math) teacher was not even a little surprised.
