I am grateful to the many colleagues who gave precious feedback along the way. Analysing trends across many countries and cohorts is not an easy task 🧠

3. Women experience events earlier than men, also among younger cohorts; gender differences reduce among the offspring of tertiary-edu parents. Women with low-edu parents are those who experience events earliest.

2. Individuals with tertiary-edu parents experience labour market entry, union formation, and parenthood later; no homogenous pattern is observed for the event of leaving home across country groups.

We have worked on this study since the early days of my PhD, and I am so happy to see it published! Some changes are impressive: among the 1980s cohort, the probability of not being parent by age 35 is 44% among men and 26% among women (all over EU). ⤵️ www.demographic-research.org/articles/vol...

(4/4) This work would never have been possible without the kind support of Francesco Billari and of Dondena Centre who hosted me for a research stay at Bocconi University in 2022 - thank you all!
