Knowing about schools in general is helpful I think for helping you navigate the system and understand the jargon and processes. Knowing about specific schools is really difficult and makes decision making (especially when also considering a child with their own agenda) very tricky indeed.

Would love to see some pupil outcomes! ☺️ An interesting one for sure!

I think that is a change & continuity rather than a sim & diff enquiry because its focus is not primarily about comparing the attitudes & motivations of different peoples in contemporaneous moments during the period you're exploring, but rather how they stayed the same/ changed across the period.

At least you had the name. My sytem usually involves me saying something like: 'you know, that article by that person who wrote that other thing with that man'

This teaches me to read replies before I post. Great reading recommendations Michael. Thanks.

Depending on the scope of time period being explored I think it is possible for change & continuity and sim/different elements to run concurrently but that is quite difficult for pupils to handle without it becoming a bit of smush. This is where EQ really matters to bring clarity to the focus. 🤔

For children & colleagues, having a degree of consistency & accessibility to each other throughout the week is important for their sense of belonging. Schools are at their best when they embrace the humanity of their community. Belonging, feels like it should be central to that community. 2/2

An interesting think piece here but, while it mentions stable relationships/ consistency, it would be good to see more exploration of these aspects as a significant limitation to the model. Schools are not just places of productivity, they are relational spaces - communities of people. 1/

A core element of the 2024 accreditation requirements is the provision of opportunities to undertake 'low stakes' practise of key classroom competencies, so there are a whole lot more microteaching-type scenarios embedded in every ITT course as a requirement...
