It’s because there are so many flowers that you have to do something to stand out to the pollinators.

anyway- it's fun. if you get to go see one, I highly recommend it the experience. they pollinated this one with a flower that bloomed the week before (also in raleigh). it doesn't smell half as bad as my street on trash day.
