My grandmother lived to be 102 When I asked what her secret was, she said, “God’s punishing me.”

essentially everyone on both sides of my family has some form of depression and/or anxiety disorder. most people in my family live into their 90's. I firmly believe this is how they all felt, and how I will feel

Mine made it to 98, credited a simple (though not exceptionally healthy) diet and her daily shot of bourbon.

She was a wise woman.

In 102 years of living, that thought sounds truthful. I bet your grandmother was a keen observer of life. And, she managed to adapt to all the changes and challenges! She was a survivor❣️

My uncle was about 90 when he said to me: "a long life is not necessarily a blessing". He was in constant physical pain due to a worn out back, almost blind and as good as deaf. His last two years were gruesome as he and his beloved wife slid into Alzheimer dementia. He died at 93.

Mine was 103. Death knocked at her door Grandma: What took you so damn long? Death: Whoa, I ain't ready for you yet, lady!

Mine is 99, and I'm a bit worried this sums up her thoughts as well. She's in great health (for a 99 year old) but her quality of life could be better. It was only in the past few years she stopped driving and started needing a walker and in-home care. I know she misses gardening.
