Today it's been three years since I started writing "Can You Hear My Heartbeat". It was supposed to be a collection of one-shots to get to know the characters because I wanted to write a sequel to YOI. I didn't expect it to escalate into a 360k xxl-novelisation.

Writing YOI fanfiction has, even more as simply watching the show multiple times and analysing it, sent me on my journey of queer self-discovery. It offered me a deep insight not only into the characters and their relationships, but also into myself.
