Even with directly expressed boundaries, you cannot guarantee that others will fully understand what you mean. (Exhibit A: "next Tuesday") If you are relying on implicit understanding rather than communicating directly, please at least understand that is a messy, fuzzy path, and give others grace.
And do be aware: Grace isn't letting them walk all over your unstated boundaries until you're fed up and then call them toxic.
