When I was in undergrad, there was this widespread idea that it was harder for men to get into medical school than women. Like, if the average MCAT score to get accepted was X, it’d be (X + n) if you were male, else (X - n). I can see how some men might apply the same misconceptions to everything.

Some men think that policies like this deny them opportunities that they deserve, while elevating less-deserving women candidates for the sake of diversity; notwithstanding that this is NOT how affirmative action or diversity-conscious hiring work at all.
