In our latest feature, Ben Dolphin goes through the signs from nature that make up his autumn. Read it here: www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/my-autu... Is autumn just a set of dates for you - or what's on your autumn checklist?

My 143rd Munro and Midge’s first. Fhionn Beinn, the least glamorous of the NW hills. As @walkhighlands.co.uk says, boggy, but in a good day what views. A spectacular skein of geese flying past capped it off nicely.

Today is the first anniversary of my worst hillwalk ever, so I got the bus back to Glencoe and climbed a nearby hill that’s less evil and twisted. N.B. No I didn’t go over the actual Aonach Eagach on my own in October, I stopped just short. #SgorrNamFionnaidh#MunroBagging@walkhighlands.co.uk

Loch Leven from the slopes of Sgorr Nam Fionnaidh. The loch is a perfect deep blue colour, as is most of the sky.
The terrifying Aonach Eagach ridge from the summit of Stob Coire Leith. This is where I turned back, because obviously.
Me at the summit of Sgorr nam Fionnaidh, Munro #81. A bonus after reaching my target of 10 a year in July.
Loch Leven from the descent path of Sgorr nam Fionnaidh, with the Ardgour hills silhouetted by a reddish-blue sky as sunset approaches.

From the other side…. of both the loch, and the night. Ben Nevis looking quite fine.
