Western fear of escalation will hand Putin an historic victory in Ukraine

The West's self-defeating fear of escalation has allowed Russia to regain the initiative in Ukraine and is now threatening to hand Putin an historic victory, writes Mykola Bielieskov.

What is the point of these enormous military budgets in the West if you end up with the equipment for a fight but not the stomach? (I think we all know)

Perhaps we could say that NATO countries don't want Ukraine to lose, but the decision makers don't want them to win enough to risk having to engage with Russia themselves.
