That gif though.😂 That's honestly the best answer! I never truly understood what the graduate student was trying to get at, and the entire discussion group was really confused. He was a huge epigenetics nerd which I never ended up grasping as a concept outside of what it means.
We were supposed to discuss whether developing that trait was an evolutionary process, or if the species acclimated to developing that life history. I'm probably butchering it all, haha. My question is why does parasitism in some wasp species exist, and how did that mechanism develop? (2/2)
Back in college when I took my evolution class and was in our discussion group, we were told to read a scientific paper on parasitic wasps. I can't remember what the paper was, but it had to do with developing parasitism because they lack the ability to create their own lipids. (1/2)
