W/prolonged warm-to-hot & mostly dry pattern region wide, I would expect wildfire activity to pick up again. Again, that's not so uncommon in CA during Oct but would be much more so in other parts of West. If any major wind events occur in coming weeks, watch out! #CAfire [2/2]

Anomalously warm temperatures will be the rule across nearly the entire US West for the foreseeable future, including California, as depicted in this map showing predicted temperature anomalies from the ECMWF ensemble for the next 2 weeks (which are nearly universally positive and locally quite high).
