I'm a college English instructor and I don't correct people's grammar, punctuation, and spelling on social media. I fully agree: don't do it. It's rude and unnecessary.

And ultimately, a waste of time; most of those errors are auto carrot corrects, typos, or momentary brain farts, and none of the tweets can be edited! So what is really being accomplished there other than feeling superior? Make my keyboard "do better"??
