Totally agree! I can't even predict how my own self will treat the art of those who turn out to be monsters: some art, I still enjoy, and some I can't go near any more. And I don't even know why. So I certainly wouldn't judge others for their reactions!

The sheer number of people who wanted to be patted on the back and told it was okay to play the Wizard Game on stream by trans people was so bizarre. (Especially since they got defensive when told no, making it clear it was all performative.)

Awful people often create beautiful things. It doesn't make you a bad person to recognize their beauty.

Also you can appreciate a work AND criticize the author ! On one side I see people defending R*wling like she's their mother on the other side we have people appreciating the impact of Lovecraft body of work while still admiting he was a HUGE piece of shit and prefer to uplift works inspired by him!
