If you mean the first episode, a lot of those NPCs are jokes that just got added as a joke about them starting the season with a big finale to an unseen quest. If you mean later on, there are a bunch of new characters in addition to familiar faces (family members, some teachers, etc).
If you wanna keep it up, go for it. I've seen a lot of people clamoring for something like this - you'll certainly have an audience once people know about this.
