Y’know, I’ll bet he would have liked to have one of those vehicles because if I recall correctly, Bladerunner got the crap beaten out of him by nearly everyone he met. If he drove one of those things and stayed in it he might have been safer.

Blake Edwards would have been a better choice for director. William Wyler is one of the greats of the studio era, but only with drama - he doesn’t have the light touch that this comedy requires. Audrey Hepburn is a delight as always, but O’Toole and Eli Wallach are kinda left to flounder.

But “close your eyes” is right there in the title. It may actually be rude to disobey.

Plus there are a couple of hundred americans being held hostage in THIS country by a small minority of howling assholes.

Yours is my fourth copy. There are allegedly 36 cover variants, including a few in black & white that are very rare. Also, if yours is an ‘83 US pressing, hold it up to the light - it looks Ike ordinary black vinyl under normal lighting but if you hold it in front of a bright light, it’s purple.

I have seven copies… every time I go into a record shop I look to see if they have a copy with a cover that I don’t have.
