Fill yer boots!
You get snow - there could be some use there, but i think if i had heating and soup, i would quite enjoy not being able to contact people for a few days, or them me.
I live in central Scotland, the world never ends here; it just feels like it sometimes.
Just over 14 years ago I bought my first ham radio magazine, after discovering that ham radio was a thing through SWL. Quite coincidentally it featured the club local to me who would take me through my 1st exam 5 years later.
Here is a semi interesting thing i found as i have been playing with winlink. NOAA weather forecasts for US states. Details in the pics - You send the email with the state code and you get a weather report back. Obviously you can do this with regular mail- i am just doing it with winlink because...
It works, but mostly i spend time trying to find a channel that i can connect to; it is far from smooth operation on HF. I do recall my ham trainers waxing lyrical about in back i 2015, when they used it in the 90s VHF for the club. But hey - you find a need for these things... or you dont.
Good luck!🤞
