Y’all, Houdini has emerged from his Chrysalis! It’s raining out, so I’ve decided to keep him in until the weather clears up.
Exciting news, everyone! Taylor is the first of the bunch to hatch from the chrysalis! Let them out a few hours ago and bid them farewell. #butterfly#caterpillar#chrysalis
Taylor and Houdini are still in Chrysalis mode, and Wilbur never came home, so RIP Wilbur. I did, however, find this guy chilling in the dill weed already nice and plump. Because of how unusually white he is, I’ve decided to name him Spooky. #butterfly#caterpillar
First, the good news. Houdini has now also changed into a chrysalis. I’ve moved him and Taylor to a more spacious location for when they emerge as butterflies. Now for the bad news. Wilbur has gone missing! I left the dill plant out just in case he comes back, but I’m not very hopeful.
Major Update: Taylor has turned into a chrysalis. Houdini is getting ready to do the same. Wilbur is still growing. #butterfly#caterpillar#chrysalis
I had to move the caterpies to a new home. Taylor has assumed the cocoon position, and Houdini is still eating after escaping again. You can’t see Wilbur, but he’s eating too.
