great insight! yeah the banner is cropped because of a technical limitation of needing to set the height of the banner constant. because of the technical limitation, the banner cant be change size/ be responsive towards when the viewport width changes width. i think. bsky.app/profile/whey...

Great question. There is a crop size that the app enforce when setting the banner, but the app when displaying the banner doesnt care about that aspect ratio. On desktop its full width (i think?) But on mobile its less long idk why. There might be an aspect ratio but its not respected anyways. Srry😔
