Childe halted in his steps and half turned to the and gave him another tip of his hat, “Well then Zhongli xiansheng, I shall wish you a good night.”
Childe merely hummed and nodded, raising his hand he tipped the man with his hat, “I see, I am sorry to disturb you xiansheng I shall wish you a good day.” He spoke and turned his back to the handsome man. “Zhongli… I go by Zhongli.”
The man had seemed somewhat caught off guard by the formality of the offer but soon took on a relaxed posture as he leaned in the doorway and thought for a moment, “Unfortunately I have not,” He shook his head, “It happened very late at night and by then I had retired for the night.”
“Xiansheng, I hope I am not disturbing you.” Childe cleared his throat as he realised that the gentleman in front of him may have been from Liyue himself. “But recently we had an incident that the police have been investigating and we wanted to ask if you had heard or seen anything last night?”
“How may I be of assistance?” He spoke, his tone of voice deep and soothing like honey. The accent was what caught the man - by name of Childe - off guard as he realised that this gentleman after all was not local to the region of Snezhnaya.
The man reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out a worn wallet to reveal an ID with the name of ‘Ajax Tartaglia’. “You can call me Childe.” The man eyed the ID for a moment and with that opened the door further to reveal a large frame,
The man who had originally knocked on the door finally turned and faltered in their movements for a moment before clearing his throat, “I am sorry to bother you, I’m a detective.”
A soft click of the lock, the twist of the handle and the click of it as the door was pushed open revealing a handsome man on the other side. He was tall, with dark auburn hair and sharp amber eyes that seemed to hold many untold secrets and most of all, wisdom.
There was a bit of shuffling on the other end, but the man did not mind, instead he placed his hand back in the pocket and looked around, he had never been here before.
