for the 100th time I am not saying POST OUR WAY TO VICTORY but liberals desperately need to occupy more space in the public mind and it should not escape your notice that the people still struggling uphill on Twitter still occupy more space than the vast collection of influential liberals here
and what material impact has that had? by all accounts, the race between trump and harris is tied despite all the posting that's been done; you still haven't established how occupying space online is supposed to translate into combating an ideology which propagates virally.
Sorry, Will. I disagree. Twitter is going the way of Pinterest, telephone booths, and film cameras. In order to use something, it has to be functional, and the user has to "like" it. Twitter is (almost) the most "disliked" platform on the planet! www.statista.com/statistics/2...
Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp are the most popular social networks worldwide, each with at least two billion active users.
Liberals, Democrats, and left progressives need to BUY media sources. The right owns pretty much every big media outlet.
it is a losing battle, because content sustains a place that is structurally biased against the left (w its algorithms) while also being actively moderated against it as well (by suspending journalists and others while amplifying the far right )
I feel like trying to convince people to not use Twitter is a necessary part of this. I don't think we can simply shame them all off, but I do think building alternatives is key.
You learned the hard way that posting isn't a path to victory.
I think it's important to take up more space in the public sphere, but not necessarily on social media. It means having conversations with co-workers and acquaintances where we bring up our political views, in any way from a yard sign to a conversation about abortion.
Dude. I actually like you most of time, but dear god. Step away from the phone.
You seem to be mixing up the "reply" and "quote posts" functions.
“Occupy more space in the public mind” is something you’ve got to be able to quantify here man. Like this is strangely 1:1 to “the economic data is good, do not be misled by anecdotes.” Can’t really have this convo without real numbers
