People on this site truly cannot distinguish between “it is important to argue with Nazis and change their mind” and “it is problematic if 90% of what journalists and politicians see is Nazi content because the liberals are boycotting the main forum these people hang out in”
It's not my public duty to hang out in a Nazi bar even if a lot of journalists hang out there. Twitter is not representative of the USA population and to the degree it is it amplifies out of proportion the number of Nazis in the USA.
There's only so much "@Adolf1488 did not violate blah blah" I can take. It's not the people who leave who cede territory to Nazis, it's the owner.
This assumes Twitter is still important. It is only important because journalists are still there.
Perhaps journalists and politicians should stop hanging out at the Nazi bar. Mind-blowing, I know.
If anyone reading this is still hanging out in the Nazi bar -- regardless of whatever sort of appeasement nonsense other people may be vomiting out -- just leave. Don't hang out in a Nazi bar. Those places are for Nazis.
Except that it is not important to argue with Nazis and change their mind, because their minds cannot be changed. They need to have no political power, no platform from which to speak, and nowhere they can show their face without being shunned.
It’s problematic if politicians and journalists can’t respond to a changing social media landscape like liberals did when they recognized what was happening to Twitter and decided to leave.
Seems like it's you who struggled to distinguish and are now trying to cover for that.
if enough journalists and politicians leave, it will lose any remaining legitimacy and asphyxiate on its own farts
Let. Twitter. And. Reddit. Die. As for the nazis, well I’m sure there’s some kind of ironic final solution. 🤷♂️
