This is true IMO. At least half of health sciences campuses in the US don’t even really have traditional tenure anymore. I certainly wish it were otherwise, but it’s increasingly not really relevant to most of the professoriate. (Again, not endorsing the reality)

To be clear, I'm not anti-tenure. Rather, I'm someone who sees it as something that is largely dead already, and I don't know if it helps to pretend otherwise. Even that 24% left is likely not as protected as they think, and admins can nuke them if they want. www.aaup.org/article/data...
