Legit no hostility; I'm just curious as someone from straight people FGC. What do you mean? I'm not suuuper into her new costume (or any of the new 4 honestly), but my straight brother likes it. I don't think it's concerning or anything; just not my favorite. What is concerning about it to people?

It will probably be frustrating at first, but keep at it. Your execution will deffo get better, and then you can focus on other aspects of your game aside from execution. Have a great time!
There's a high that comes from making the RIGHT decisions after trials and tribulations of being in that exact situation multiple times and making the WRONG decision. All of that, on top of just the fact that it's fun to do cool combos that feel good. That's a peek into why fighting games are fun.
And not to mention this differs heavily on the character they're playing. You don't HAVE to delve this deep into fighting games, but it's nice that there's an absurdly high skill ceiling and always incentive to improve.
My friends and I like to call it "execution chess". You have to take into account spacing your attacks, punishing incorrectly-spaced attacks from your opponent, punishing OPTIMALLY, reading your opponent, adapting to your opponent adapting to you (this is the best part about fighting games).
They're going to be dropping their combos too, because they aren't practiced with their execution either. But once the execution hurdle is mitigated, you get to focus on the rest of fighting games, which although may seem simple on the surface, is as nuanced as you want to let it be.
It helps to find someone to grow with that's your skill level. Learning to do inputs correctly and consistently is a hurdle of all new players, so if you can find someone to share that struggle with & improve together, you'll notice you've gotten better over time, while still being able to have fun.
