In general vibes around Star Wars as a franchise are just bad right now. If I were advising disney I would suggest not greenlight anything new for a few years, the exhaustion level is so high It also *really* doesn't help that the sequel trilogy flopping means no-one wants more stories in that era

i think ubisoft has run into mega, bone-deep star wars fatigue among some of the most vocal consumers of star wars material and literally anything that was releasing into the space immediately post-acolyte was gonna get torn to pieces. people are deep into their hater era, with pretty good reason

And this wasn't inevitable! You can absolutely have a shared universe that remains fresh and interesting over time, just ask GW! 40K has a larger and more engaged audience than ever! Fundementally I think Disney did not *get* Star Wars and has prioritised short term cash over long term growth
