Oh fascinating. The 120V outlets have almost always cycled on and off on flights when I used them. Typically older aircraft on Alaska (mostly former Virgin A320s on flights out of SFO lately).

The newer systems are typically good about resetting to give power to the most recently connected port, so unplugging and replugging will get you back. Beyond that, it comes down to how the power is distributed in sets of seats and how much is available; usually <75W/seat average IIRC.The newer systems are typically good about resetting to give power to the most recently connected port, so unplugging and replugging will get you back. That makes more sense! If they did not retrofit after transferring from Virgin it’s probably from French company Thales. Modern (last 15y or so) outlets from us have a light (green/red), red light while mid flight results in bug reports. It happens, but usually because of some non standard situation
