So glad questions of spirituality are finally being asked instead of just membership/affiliation as a gauge for religion in the US. Nones/Dones has been overblown. Those older questions have more to do with official membership, affiliation, and organized religion. www.npr.org/2023/12/07/1...

Many people in churches don't become a member because they see little purpose or may visit regularly but wouldn't say they are affiliated and still more are dissatisfied with their local church or organized religion which could be due to avoidance of areas of injustice by the church or outright harm
