I suppose I could have been more creative with the helmet design, maybe taken the skull construction from the Shorwell or Wollaston, or made the nose guard longer. But I think whatever a hypothetical Arthur would have worn would probably have cheek guards and a nasal, and not just an iron salad bowl
I did get an ask about why I went with a 4th century Roman Ridge helmet instead of an actual 6th century helmet like the Shorwell helmet. The main reason is that there's a pretty clear line between Roman Ridge helmets and later early medieval helmets like the Wollaston or later Coppergate.
It's a historical fantasy setting, based in the late 1380's in Scotland. Sir Henry here is a Northern English knight who lost his original armour at the battle of Otterburn the previous year, and is slowly rebuilding his kit.
Maybe it's his curls? I love the design!
