My favorite was the "Richard Keil Memorial ABEND #27" on Netware servers back in the day. The developer and the test team were arguing about whether the system even NEEDED an ABEND message for a given condition. The guy who said "it'll never happen, don't bother" was Richard Keil.

I am begging software makers to just give me an error code to look into, please... Even an Xbox, a home console designed to be "Windows gaming features but easy to use!", will print error codes. It will tap them out with its status LED if it has to.
