I have I friend who is a full time teen librarian and reads like, 2-500 books a year. And no, she doesn't get paid to do that, that's on her free time.
I had a manager once lend me a book that was meant to improve my performance. It was at most 50 pages and full of very vague "visualize your best self" drivel.
