In Philosophy in SFF, we're on ethics, so this week is Omelas & "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach," & an introduction to consequentialism & deontology w/ axe murderers & trolley problems abundant (can't do the Good Place ep w/o spoilers). Next week is "The Ones who Stay & Fight" & "WDWJKtKitOh"…

…("why don't we just kill the kid in the omelas hole?"), and we'll do those alongside confucian and aristotelian virtue ethics. Then we'll do "The Cold Equations" and "The Cold Calculations" while we talk about feminist ethics of care and power. Should be a good few weeks.
