Omigosh that sounds like so much fun!

We had a lot of rain, high winds and hail this year. Seems the new normal is there is no normal!

I layered wood chips in before adding soil but didn’t mix it up. Literally everything in the beds grew very slowly this year but were otherwise healthy. Indeterminate tomatoes only got 3-4 ft. Peppers are 2.5 ft max and didn’t get blossoms until August. The only thing I can think of is nitrogen.

That’s awesome. Mine was all new wood from a downed tree but also about 12” soil.
