In the 70s a friend had a Triumph TR4, followed by a Bugeye. Both came to him needing a fair amount of work. Despite being broadly similar technically, the TR was an endless series of annoying frustrations, whereas the Sprite was vastly easier to do the same things.

I've heard that being a Triumph owner requires real commitment to the bit.
