No trauma in our childhood. My child adores him- I won’t hurt her by influencing their relationship. It was always bad but everything with Mom just exacerbated it. I struggle to fully grieve because I’m caretaking. He doesn’t help carry that load. One day I may collapse from this weight. 5/x

Mom spent 30 days in hospital in summer 2020. Brother was working remotely (I was back in office). Brother never once said, let me come work from parents’ house as Dad may need support. When Mom came home, she had 2 months of TPN. I changed the bag every day. 3/?

Yesterday Dad sends group chat message. Brother respond with surprise over other element of injury. Brother never calls Dad or messages him directly. I shouldn’t be surprised. He takes pleasure in not being the default child. Even when physical distance wasn’t involved 2/?

More grief. Took Dad to ER Sunday. He’s fine now-not life-threatening. But he’s almost 80, uncommon bone issue, stroke history and cancer survivor. Brother texts Happy Easter as we’re leaving so update him on visit. An hour later, brother responds. 1/?
