What do you do when you are super busy with 3 paper revisions to send back (1 done), a collaborative grant deadline, teaching & 4 scientific visitors in the first 15th days in Jan? Cut loose and go enjoy an evening of NCPA at the Park with free outdoor music & poetry reading with daughter. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Just met a young faculty who met two of her mentors through the mentor match program and several peers. Do sign up or suggest it to a younger colleague. This is a great place to make scientific connections and meet members of the fabulous worm community.
Hey worm friends: 114 people signed up to be mentors in this year's C. elegans Community Mentor Match Program 🎉 While this is awesome, in previous years we've had more mentors than mentees. We need more mentees! 📢 Please re-post. Even better, email the sign-up form to your lab members.
The 2024 C. elegans Community Mentor Match is open to postdocs and faculty at any career stage. This survey collects information to help the committee identify the most appropriate prospective mentor...

Really cool study. Mechanical tension via synapse formation is necessary for firing. Do dig in.
I want a few, oh cancel that many....
Good idea
I want a similar one for C. elegans labs. I think China has the fastest growing worm community with >100 labs.
My student Vidur Sabharwal (red T-shirt) successfully defended his thesis. He gave a thoughtful talk, defended his ideas very well & his well written thesis was appreciated. He will be much missed. Congratulations
📣📣Attention mid-career and senior worm scientists!!📣📣 Past tenure but still feel like you need a mentor? The C. elegans community mentoring committee is launching a new initiative to develop peer mentoring groups for mid-career and senior scientists.
