If you’re an employer forcing your Covid positive staff member back to work after the 5 day “recommended” period and putting other staff at risk as a result - as well as your staff member by asking them to push through - shame on you. Tweet brought to you by a few stories of this happening recently🫠

It's infuriating as many of us said this would happen if remaining protections were removed. It's not only bad for the sick person and those around them, it keeps covid spreading in the community and eventually a vulnerable person will get sick, 10 to 30% will get long covid, and some will die

The current recommendation to isolate for five days is a “hangover” from when the CDC moved from a 10-day isolation recommendation to five days in late 2021. “It was not a reflection of evidence-based” science. “It was there to stop everything from falling apart.” www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

A set number of days to isolate is “dumb if you think about it from a medical perspective,” said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious diseases specialist at the University of California, San Francisco. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Pretty sure my daughter will be back tomorrow as her five days are up - even though she now has a positive family member

You would think companies would understand the financial downside of deliberately getting more employees sick.
