I'm not terribly optimistic about that chain of events. I think there is at least decent number of social conservatives who oppose trump for being too lax on those culture war issues. I think a post-Trump GOP might be even more weird about trans people as that set fills in the vacuum.
I don’t have all the details, so maybe shouldn’t be commenting. BUT, if UW really tore down a sukkah immediately after their big report on antisemitism, that’s egregious and Pres. Cauce needs to answer for it. Every university I’ve been at has permitted Jews to celebrate Sukkot on campus.
