This is what's so infuriating about people trying to retcon 2010s austerity as some genius political jiu-jitsu instead of a huge failure. Long term unemployment in your 20s is insanely damaging.
I’m unemployable now, and it’s not funny.
I had about 2 years of un/under employment after grad. Was so depressed I contemplated destroying my diploma. Threw myself into the first shit jobs that hired me and made myself vulnerable to years of toxic mgmt that I'm still recovering from. I'm surprised my physical health didn't take a hit.
yeah hi I'm still recovering from a ton of that at 38. I'm finally in a full time job that's good and healthy and pays decently, but I have zero savings and a ton of debt.

It’s here again. The economic reports say things are on fire, popping off like crazy. In reality, I’m outta work for the fifth month straight & no one is returning my inquiries. And I’m far from alone. Many friends across industries are in the same boat. Another day, another rejection. It’s insane!!
