I agree with the premise at surface level but the “[already] made enough money…” is a huge qualifier there. Being able to afford the cost of taking a moral stand is a huge luxury in itself.

I also like to think that somehow a block operation is more expensive computationally so I’m making the service work harder to filter out the garbage it’s become home to. It probably *isnt* more expensive, but my head canon is set.

On the other app I block 10+ accounts every day. Accounts I would probably never interact with anyway, but I’m just not willing to allow the garbage on my TL anymore. I’m not looking solely to build a bubble but the large class of “bad at critical thinking” blowhards aren’t worth acknowledging.

I’ve got mine coming up soon and I’m kinda scared. Hit 69 days last time and my life would be ended if it went that way again.

I don’t know how to make a Twitter bot, although obviously it doesn’t seem hard considering how many there are, but I could make billions by writing one for people that auto blocks anyone getting a bingo of blue check, “imma patriot”, Jesus/god mention, flag emoji, 2A” in their bio check.
