A friend shared this with me, so now I'm sharing with you: This is a fork of Blender that has an overhaul of the interface that adds colored icons, verbose tooltips, and more industry-standard behavior across the board. www.bforartists.de Check out this before and after of the modifiers menu:
I love this because this is essentially the beauty of decently funded open source software. While not sure its for me, this might help quite a few folks who struggle with the UI in various ways. Blender is an amazing tool, but its also an amazing community. Will certainly share with others, thanks!
Saw this yesterday and whooped out loud, been my biggest pain point trying to get into blender.
They did a major overhaul that improved it greatly, but it's hard to match everyone's needs with a tool with 500,000 different functions Case in point: I find many of the changes in this fork make it _worse_ (for me), but am happy to see it makes it better for some people.
Wonderful! I'd hope much of this would be backported to blender on a customizable basis, though. I don't like the "just removed most keybinds" philosophy. Blender interface is complex and obtuse because it's optimized to be flexible and efficient once mastered, but that's not mutually exclusive.
!!!!!!!!!!!
๐ THANK U FOR SHARING !!!
Can addons be used with forks still? Maybe a dumb question
finally i can use blender without being overwhelmed by the fact how hard it is
